Our mission... "To promote the Brass Band tradition through excellent artistic and educational performances for musicians and communities." The Central Ohio Brass Band (COBB) was formed in 1989 as the Ohio Collegiate Brass Band. Today COBB is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose members represent a diverse cross section of the Central Ohio community and a multitude of careers. COBB competes regularly at the North American Brass Band Association (NABBA) Championships and enjoys a vigorous concert schedule. COBB has been the featured ensemble at concert series such as Waterfire Columbus, Triune (St. John's), Whetstone Park of Roses, ComFest and Lakeside Resort. The band frequently plays at church functions, community festivals and with school groups to promote life-long learning and to foster the brass band tradition in the United States. As the 2010 NABBA 1st Division Champion, COBB will be performing and competing in the 2011 Bultins Mineworkers National Open in Skegness, England. COBB also hosts their own festival called the Ohio Brass Arts Festival held at Wiegel Hall on the campus of The Ohio State University. The 5th Annual OBAF will be held April 1 and 2, 2011.
